Lilburn Daze 2026 canceled due to incoming weather
The 2026 Lilburn Daze festival has been canceled because of inclement weather forecasted for this weekend, organizers announced on Thursday. The Lilburn Woman's Club, which sponsors the event, said the decision was made following recommendations from Gwinnett Emergency Management and Gov. Brian Kemp’s declaration of a state of emergency, according to the announcement. Kemp issued a state of emergency ahead of Hurricane Isaias’ expected landfall along the Gulf Coast Friday, which is expected to bring heavy storms, winds and other weather impacts in the Peach State this weekend. Organizers said the cancellation was intended to prioritize the safety of artists, volunteers and attendees. The annual festival was scheduled to bring the community together at Lilburn City Park on Saturday, Oct. 10. Organizers said they look forward to welcoming visitors back for Lilburn Daze 2027 and making next year’s festival even better. Those with questions about the cancellation can contact the Lilburn Woman’s Club.

This would’ve been the festival’s 14th year. Sally Macaulay, executive director of the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, said in an email sent to sponsors that organizers were concerned about safety due to predicted rain showers this weekend. “This was an extremely difficult decision. Chalktoberfest is a labor of love for all of us at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, and we know how much time, effort, and support goes into making this event such a tremendous success each year,” Macaulay wrote. “Unfortunately, the forecasted weather conditions will not allow us to provide the safe and enjoyable
