Clever School District begins work on new classrooms, security improvements following passage of bond
CLEVER, Mo. (KY3) - The money from a no-tax-increase bond passed in April will fund more security and classroom improvements in the Clever School District. The Christian County district is located 20 miles southwest of Springfield. The $16 million bond extended the current tax levy another 19 years. The district will build new high school and elementary-middle school classrooms to accommodate the growing student body. In addition, it would make safety and security improvements to the pre-K through 2nd grade and the 6th through 8th grade offices.

NIXA, Mo. (KY3) - An endangered person advisory has been issued for two people in Nixa who left a care facility Sunday morning. According to the Nixa Police Department, 62-year-old Andrew Fecko and Shannon Sturgion left the facility at 1111 Care Avenue on Sunday around 11 a.m. They were last seen walking towards the Casey’s Gas Station on Gregg Road in Nixa.

Aldermen originally voted against the original design by Torgerson Design Partners (TPD) at the last meeting because several residents and board members voiced concerns the building wouldn’t fit in with the other structures on the square. Addressing siren & shelter concerns after Sunday’s storms
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Over the weekend, the First Alert Weather Team kept an eye on a few rounds of strong to severe t-storms that rolled through the Ozarks. While Sunday morning started with rain across much of the area, the atmosphere got unstable enough to allow for a tornado watch to go out for parts of southwest Missouri at 5:15 p.m. For our Missouri counties, that watch only included Stone, Barry, Newton and McDonald counties. Outside of the watch, storms marched into Greene and Christian counties where a tornado warning went into effect around 8:40 Sunday night.
