    Pisco wins three events at Centreville Invite

    CENTREVILLE — Both the Centreville girls and Constantine boys scored more than 1,000 points to win at the Centreville track and field invitational held on Saturday.

    There were 10 teams in attendance for the annual invite, which scores plenty of places. The Centreville girls posted 1,015 team points, Constantine pile up 1,013. The Gobles girls were second with 996, Centreville finished third for the boys with 880. For the girls, Constantine was third (718), Mendon was fourth (509), Bronson was fifth (455), Marcellus came in sixth (449) and White Pigeon was seventh (352). The Centreville boys were second (880), Mendon was fifth (705), Bronson came in sixth (671), White Pigeon was seventh (657) and Marcellus placed ninth (345).

    White Pigeon's Jordan Pisco won three events, earning him the outstanding athlete award for the invite. Pisco broke the school record in the 300 hurdles, posting a winning time of 41.16 seconds. This broke Todd Burnham's school record from 1995. In the 110 he ran a time of 15.53 seconds to win and Pisco also claimed first place in the high jump at 6-4. His leap of 19-3 feet in the long jump was fourth.

    Bennett VandenBerg of Constantine won the throwing events. He posted a shot put distance of 47-7.25 feet and a discus hurl of 166-3.25 feet. White Pigeon's Seth Miller was second in the shot put at 45-8 feet, Matthew Bates of Constantine was second in the discus at 127-2.5 feet.

    Constantine's Alessandro Avila won the distance races. His time was 4:52.04 in the mile and 11:10.55 in the two-mile run. Jack McCaw of Mendon ran to first place in the 100 dash, he posted a time of 11.67 seconds.

    DeAndre Stout was first for Centreville in the 200 at 23.42, he placed second in the 400 at 53.86 seconds.

    Bronson's Boston Bucklin finished second in the 800 at 2:06.10. Ryder Gorham of Mendon ran to second in the mile run at 4:53.63. Ben Iobe was second in the two-mile run at 11:34.71.

    Constantine's Justin Hendrix was second in the 110 hurdles (16.53) and Rushawn James claimed second in the 300 (41.74). The Falcon mile relay team ran to first place. Robbie King, Brody Jones, Isaac Moore and Logan Patmalnieks posted a time of 3:36.99 in that one. Jones also won the pole vault at 13-6 feet.

    Bronson's two-mile relay team claimed first. Tyler Wilber, Jack Ganton, Bucklin and Kam Brackett ran a time of 8:39.10 to win that one.

    James finished second in the long jump, he cleared 19-6 feet.

    For the girls, Ellie Miller of Centreville ran to first in the 200 at 27.68. She was second in the 100 at 13.48. Miller also leaped to first in the long jump, clearing 15-7.75 feet.

    Kailee Jones of Constantine posted a time of 2:29.34 to win the 800 run. Jaedyn Herlein was the fastest in the 100 hurdles, her time was 17.80 in that one. Abigail Flores came in second at 18.00.

    Bronson's Jaiden Hayes ran to first place in the 300 hurdles. She paced the field at 50.44 seconds.

    Winning the mile relay was Constantine's team. Herlein, Ava Muncie, Kailee Jones and Kaitlyn Jones teamed up for a winning time of 4:22.63.

    White Pigeon's Sydney McClure won the shot put at 30-11 feet. Skylar Smith of Bronson claimed first in the discus at 91-3.25 feet, teammate Zoay Herbert was second at 77-2 feet.

    Leah Roberts posted a 5-0 foot clearing to win the high jump. Alicyn Arevalo of Mendon was second at 4-10 feet.

    Madisyn Harrison of Marcellus was first in the pole vault at 8-6 feet. Emily Roberts of Centreville came in second at 7-0 feet.
