CENTERVILLE, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A new event center is set to open next summer in Centerville.

The City of Centerville announced that construction of the Benham Grove Event Center has begun.

The event center is set to contain a bridal suite, a groom’s area, and a warming kitchen. There will also be an open area at the event center designed to bring nature to the events hosted there.

Randal Bishop, Benham Grove’s Administrator, looks forward to being able to accommodate larger events in the future.

“Moving away from a rented outdoor tent and constructing a new building allows us to nearly double our event season. I essentially turn away thousands of guests each year because our current grounds cannot accommodate large groups in colder months,” Bishop is quoted in the release.

In addition, the city is making updates to the event center’s cottage area as well, along with expansions to the parking lot. By next summer the city also hopes to complete updates to the Gerber House.
