This week in Bell County, Kentucky, there were three notable incidents. A fast-spreading fire destroyed a residential house in the Arjay community. A Pineville woman was killed in a crash involving a Ford pickup and a tractor trailer. Klu Klux Klan flyers were found in Pineville, distributed by someone in a Jeep. Hawkins County History Lesson: Dodson Creek United Methodist Church dates back to 1903
Dodson Creek is a small creek that runs through Webster Valley just across the Holston River from Rogersville. The community of Strahl is located very near the creek at the intersection of Kite Road, Old State Route 70, Strahl Road and Webster Valley Road. Dodson Creek church is located along Kite Road at this intersection. For a long time after the first church was built at this site, it was called Strahl Methodist Church.
