Cal Fire to conduct controlled burn north of Lake Siskiyou next week
SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. – Fire crews with Cal Fire will be working on a prescribed burn between May 20 and 23. According to a press release, the specific burn day will be dependent on weather conditions and resource availability. However the controlled burn will be on the northside of Lake Siskiyou about 3 miles west of Mt. Shasta City off North Shore Road.

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. – The Mount Shasta Police Department is looking for a missing 32-year-old man last seen in the area of Spring Street Thursday morning. Climber dies after medical emergency on Mount Shasta
SISKIYOU COUNTY, California (KDRV) -- A 49-year-old climber died on Friday after he collapsed while climbing Mount Shasta. According to a Facebook post from the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office, the man -- David Lopez from Campbell, CA -- fell while walking towards Lake Helen. This was about 9,500 feet up Avalanche Gulch.
