The river is in good shape from Lewiston down to Cedar Flat
The river is in good shape from Lewiston down to Cedar Flat. Most of the fish can be found above Douglas City, there should be bigger fish coming up into the Junction City area soon off of the last storm bump. Fishing remains superb on nymphs and this is a good time to swing as well. These are super grabby summer run fish, you can get them on Rubberlegs, Duracells, Olive Hotspots and Copper Johns. Look to put a few Golden Stone nymphs in your bag, Rolling Stones, Mercer's Poxyback Golden Stone, and the Solitude TB Golden Stone will fool these fish just fine. This fall is a banger year on the Trinity with as many fish we have in the system now. Give us a call if you would like to get on the books with your favorite guide!

Have Thanksgiving, skip the turkey at 5 Redding area eateries
Up for a culinary adventure on Thanksgiving? A few Redding area restaurants say they will open on Nov. 27. For starters, check out Lalibela Ethiopian Cuisine at its new location in Redding. The restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Nov. 8 after moving from its Placer Street location where it had limited hours at a commercial kitchen. Owners Adino Tarekgen and his wife, Chuchu Fati, plan to serve lamb soup on Thanksgiving Day during its regular Thursday hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The soup also will be available Friday of the holiday week. The soup comes with injera, a thin, house-made bread that’s a staple with Ethiopian meals. Lalibela’s new menu that’s coming out this week also will feature a raw beef dish. “Saturday we serve kitfo, raw meat,” Tarekgen said. Kitfo has been described as the ultimate raw meat delicacy. Lalibela’s regular menu offers the unique tastes of Ethiopia complemented by native spices. “Everything is organic. Everything is made fresh,” Tarekgen said. There’s the beef tibs plate ($18.99) consisting of cubed beef sauteed with tomatoes, onions and jalapenos with a side of salad and injera. The chicken tibs meal ($18.99) has cubed and sauteed chicken with onions,

The Time Between Rains is Making Steelhead Fishing Good
The timing between storms is just enough to make the rivers clear up and provide some good Steelhead fishing. Yesterday I drove up river to check out how the river was looking and was surprised at how many fishermen were out on the river fishing. The Trinity River looked really great for fishing and the number of guides riggs in the different parking lots was very pleasing to see. I was unable to talk to many guides as they were all out on the river fishing but the water was clear with about 6ft of visibility and looked good. I did talk to a couple of the fishermen and they said they were having some good hookups with a couple saying they had hooked into a couple of adults of two to three pounds. I checked out the new Junction City Campground launch site and parking. I must say the launch look very good. The parking area could use some more work and gravel though. The new restroom building looked great but was locked just when the facilities were looking good and being used, we are back to using the bushes again. Why would BLM add a much-needed facility and then lock it up right as Steelhead fish is picking up for the winter?

With the storm this week the river got cloudy below Weaver Creek and is dropping and clearing
With the storm this week the river got cloudy below Weaver Creek and is dropping and clearing. The river below Junction City remains somewhat off color, we'd suggest fishing above. With that said, a lot of wild and hatchery steelhead remain from Old Bridge through Douglas City. Fishing remains superb on nymphs and this is a good time to swing as well. These are super grabby summer run fish, you can get them on Rubberlegs, Duracells, Olive Hotspots and Copper Johns. And eggs. Good reports of trout and bass coming to shad patterns and Woolley Buggers
Good reports of trout and bass coming to shad patterns and Woolley Buggers in the Centimudi Ramp and Pit Arm area. Look for the tributaries to come up with this storm and fish the incoming slew of food. Trout will be congregating in preparation for their spawning runs and will be chowing on whatever is hatching. Otherwise the bass will be chasing shad. Float n' Fly with the shad Float n' Fly pattern or a dark Balanced Leech will be the ticket fished towards shore or wherever you see fish busting bait balls. This fall and through the winter will be a great time to get out on the lake if you would like to catch as many fish as you can handle or want to sight cast streamers to cruising fish, give us a call we have the best fly guides on Shasta Lake!
