Truck carrying mulch crashes, closing Route 15 near Gettysburg: PennDOT
Route 15 is shut down Wednesday afternoon after a tractor-trailer carrying mulch or topsoil overturned in Adams County, PennDOT said. Spokeswoman Fritzi Schreffler said the crash happened just after 1 p.m. and closed Route 15′s southbound lanes between Route 30 (York Street) and Hanover Street near Gettysburg. The ramp from Route 30 west to Route 15 south is also closed.

Littlestown snapped Biglerville’s 17-game winning streak, defeating the Canners in a District III playoff match Thursday afternoon at Biglerville. The Thunderbolts built 4-0 lead after five innings, then weathered a three-run Biglerville rally in the bottom of the sixth, added an insurance run in the seventh, and held on. Maddie Dubbert was masterful in the pitching circle for Littlestown, going the distance and not allowing an earned run. She struck out there and did not walk a batter. Biglervlle’s Sydney McCleaf also turned in a remarkable pitching performance, likewise throwing all seven innings and allowing only two earned runs. Isabella Olvera was a hitting star for Littlestown with a home run and two RBI. Biglerville out-hit Littlestown, 9-6, with the nine hits provided by nine different players. Littlestown will now move to the state playoffs and a date with Kutztown next Tuesday.
