Coldwater up next for Pleasant in an OHSAA volleyball regional final
ONTARIO — The seniors have never missed a regional tournament. The juniors have never missed a state tournament. That means big matches and high-stakes moments are not new to the Pleasant volleyball team. "It’s exciting, but all of us have been through the experience before," Pleasant senior defensive specialist Siri Veladanda said. "The excitement and nerves, we’ve all been through it, so we’re used to it. It’s nothing new. It’s a great feeling." The Spartans will put that experience to the test 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 when they take the O-rena floor in Ontario and face Coldwater for a Division V regional title. "It’s great to know so many teams don’t get to experience this. We’re so lucky to have a team and a family where we get this far in the state tournament. Most teams don’t get to do this once let alone three times," Veladanda said. Pleasant went to the regionals in 2023 and won a regional title in 2024 before finishing as the Division VI state runners-up. Last year, the Spartans earned another regional crown and trip to the state tournament, but were knocked out in the state semifinals 3-2 by New Lexington. Pleasant knows what's
