    Cumberland Valley ice cream trail begins

    CUMBERLAND VALLEY, Pa. (WHTM) – You can now get rewarded for eating ice cream.

    The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau launched the 2024 Cumberland Valley Ice Cream Trail today, May 23.

    The free digital passport runs from May 23 until Labor Day; it encourages participants to visit different ice cream locations throughout Cumberland County.

    The trail includes 18 locations. Many of the businesses on the trail make their own ice cream.

    Trail stops include:

    • Cornerstone Coffeehouse (Camp Hill)
    • Destiny Dairy Bar (Carlisle)
    • Dough & Arrows (Carlisle)
    • Exquisite Chocolates (Carlisle)
    • Hanna’s Ice Cream Shoppe (New Cumberland)
    • Kings Gap General Store (Carlisle) new this year
    • Kristy’s Whistle Stop (Enola)
    • Leo’s Homemade Ice Cream (Carlisle)
    • Macris Chocolates (Lemoyne)
    • Massey’s Frozen Custard (Carlisle)
    • Oak Grove Farms (Mechanicsburg)
    • Paulus Farm Market (Mechanicsburg)
    • Rakestraw’s Ice Cream (Mechanicsburg)
    • Shirley Rae’s Ice Cream (Mechanicsburg)
    • The Inside Scoop (Shippensburg)
    • Twirly Top (Gardners)
    • Urban Churn (Carlisle)
    • Urban Churn (Mechanicsburg)

    While at the ice cream stop, participants will check in to their location, use their device’s location services, and earn points. Points can then be traded in for prizes such as a special pin, a water-proof pouch, and a bucket hat.

    As a new feature, users will be able to check-in and receive points at Carlisle Summerfair during the Ice Cream Social on Friday, June 28 at Dickinson College.

    This is one of four trails the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau offers. They also have the Cumberland Valley Coffee & Chocolate Trail, Cumberland Valley Beer Trail, and a new trail, the Cumberland Valley Foodie Fun Trail, which starts on Thursday, June 6.
