Scott City man arrested following arson, property damage
SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - A Scott City man is being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail, charged with doing damage to both a house and a Cape Girardeau City police car. 35-year-old Marcus Allen Bowers is being held on a $50,000, cash-only bond. According to court records, on Thursday, July 25 at around 4:25 p.m., the victim reported that Bowers was pouring gasoline inside of his residence.

Gas prices rise in Missouri, fall in much of America
While gas prices are on the decline in many parts of the country, the same cannot be said of Southeast Missouri. County averages for regular unleaded gasoline were higher than last week in Cape Girardeau and Perry Counties, as well as in Jackson, Perryville and Scott City, and saw no change in Scott County. Only in Cape Girardeau proper did the average fall.
