Work on Rice Lake south side intersection has begun; completion slated for August
Road work has started on the intersection of Decker Drive and Highway O/South Access Road on the south side of Rice Lake. Funded with help from the Highway Safety Improvement Program, the Barron County project aims to increase motorist safety. According to the state Department of Transportation, 18 crashes were reported at the intersection between 2017 and 2022, and all involved a vehicle entering Highway O from Decker Drive. The Barron County Pro Rodeo is slated for this weekend after changing from its previous fall schedule. The sixth annual Barron County Pro Rodeo is Friday and Saturday nights at the Barron County Fairgrounds.
