HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — The Howland Fire Department helped rescue a baby duck Tuesday night.

A mother duck and her ducklings were struck by a car while crossing Route 46. Someone took them to Birds in Flight Sanctuary in Canfield, but one duckling fell into a grate.

A fireman was able to rescue the duckling, and it was reunited with the others at the sanctuary.

27 First News called Birds in Flight to ask how they were doing. Sadly, the mother passed away, but her ducklings are doing well.
