WHAM! Festival Wraps Up
The WHAM! Festival concluded on Saturday with concerts and performances from children’s choruses from area schools. Students from Cottageville, Forest Hills, and Northside Elementary Schools performed songs and even performed a group song. The event was attended by hundreds, included Art Awards in student and adult categories and concluded with concerts for Will Robbins, Jim Brown featuring Three Easy Pieces and The Abbey Elmore Band. The WHAM! Festival (Walterboro History Arts and Music Festival) included performances such as ballets, plays, and concerts. Other events included exhibitions, trivia contests, dance demonstrations, poetry, an even an art walk during the festival that ran from May 3 through the 11.

Mr. Jaime Andersen with Wayne Brothers has partnered with CCHS Career Center to offer careers within their company. Mr. Andersen spoke with some Seniors and shared his career path as he ran a company and built experience as he climbed up the ladder. Mr. Andersen was asked by Wayne Brothers to come work for them where he serves as a Training Instructor. He teachers OSHA in English and Spanish, and he also teaches job-site safety. Wayne Brothers has a specialty as a concrete company, engineering, civil industrial, concrete carpenters, and site prep. Wayne Brothers is known to set the groundwork to build facilities, such as the Google facility. Our CCHS graduates are encouraged to apply today if they are interested in these career opportunities and going straight into the workforce after graduation. Missing, endangered man found thanks to citizen’s tip, Moncks Corner Police say
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) - The Moncks Corner Police Department says a man who was reported missing was found safe. Police said a tip from a citizen in Summerville led them to find the missing 49-year-old man. Capt. Lee Mixon thanked the public for their help in finding the man.
