SOUTHERN Ill. (KFVS) - The rail corridor from Chicago to Carbondale is one of 12 to receive funding for expansions and renovations. According to a release from Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration chose 12 rail corridors in Illinois to each receive $500,000 through the new Corridor Identification and Development Program.

Duster Thomas Bracket Released, Salem Opens With Carlyle
The Bracket has been released for the upcoming Duster Thomas Holiday Tournament at Pinckneyville. The Salem Wildcats will play at 10:30 a.m. in the tournaments 2nd game on December 27th against a familiar foe in the Carlyle Indians. Carlyle is 3-1 on the season with their only loss coming to undefeated Pinckneyville at the Kaskaskian to open the year.
