Hudson Valley Highway Name Raises Eyebrows, Causes Chuckles
A state route running through the Hudson Valley is gaining international attention for its humorous name. Anyone driving around the Hudson Valley has probably noticed some peculiar street names. There's Sodom Road in Brewster, Butts Hollow Road in Dover Plains, Joe's Mother's Road in Hopewell, Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie and Boodle Hole Road in Accord.

Two Sullivan County Legislators join fight to keep Exit 114 on Route 17 open
WURTSBORO – The calls to keep Exit 114 on Route 17 in Wurtsboro open continue to grow louder. Republican Sullivan County Legislators Terry Bernardo and Nicholas Salomone Jr. have written a letter to the State Department of Transportation (DOT) requesting that the exit remains open. Concerns over the possible closure of Exit 114 have grown as the DOT gets closer to finalizing its plans for bringing Route 17 in line with federal standards to make it an interstate highway.
Republican Primary debate for 100th Assembly district (VIDEO)
LIBERTY- The Republican candidates for the 100th Assembly district faced off in an hour-long debate to discuss who would be better suited to take on Democrat Paula Kay this November in an attempt to flip the seat from blue-to-red. The 100th Assembly district, which includes portions of Sullivan County as well as the Town of Wallkill and City of Middletown in Orange County, has been represented for more than two decades by Democrat Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther of Forestburgh.

Newburgh school board proposes reduced budget ahead of revote
NEWBURGH- After its initial budget was defeated by just 95 votes on May 21st, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education worked with district administration to craft a revised budget proposal that will be considered by voters on June 18th. Newburgh’s school budget was the only Orange County school budget to fail this year.
