The Pioneer Village Museum has announced a Volunteer Orientation on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Museum grounds along Highway W, west of Cameron. After the orientation, those attending are invited to stay for a short membership business meeting and potluck picnic.

"It is a great place to volunteer and we would love to have you join us," Museum Director Tammy Schutz said. "The 2024 season is upon us and volunteer opportunities abound. Whether you are interested in being a docent and greeting visitors, working with our archives, taking care of flower and vegetable gardens, joining the maintenance crew with yard work and building maintenance, working in the kitchen or other support help during events, helping with weekly building cleaning, or working in the office, we are sure to have something you enjoy."

Volunteers help during regular open hours Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, 1–5 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or during special events.

"If that doesn’t work, we also have volunteers who come during the time that we are closed," Schutz said. "Those volunteers help with behind-the-scenes work, doing all the things that are hard to do when visitors are here."

To learn more, call the museum at 715-458–2080 and plan to attend the upcoming volunteer orientation.
