Maryville football to host Cameron for homecoming
Maryville football looks to extend its three-game win streak by hosting Cameron for its homecoming game in the ’Hound Pound Friday, Sept. 22. Maryville will host back-to-back home games after its 46-42 triumph over St. Pius X Sept. 15. The Spoofhounds lead the Midland Empire Conference into Week 5 with a .750 winning percentage from their first 4 games.
Maysville takes the win over South Harrison
Bethany, MO: It was a perfect night for football last Friday and the South Harrison Bulldogs played their first home game of the season. The new scoreboard was a welcome addition and the new lighting worked wonders. The Bulldogs faced off against the Maysville Wolverines this game. The Bulldogs put up quite a fight during the game, but things didn’t go in South Harrison’s favor, resulting in a 46 to 22 loss to the Wolverines.

The Cameron Dragon Soccer Club finally had its chance to play on the new fields at Cameron Community Park at Old Somerville last weekend. As part of the first ever CDSC soccer tournament at the new fields, the club hosted multiple teams from throughout Northwest Missouri as part of a two-day tournament for children all ages.
Shorthanded Hornets Volleyball Loses to Cameron
The Chillicothe Hornets traveled to Cameron for a conference matchup on Tuesday night, but were missing their top setter on the season, Carman Woodworth. Without Woodworth in the rotation Coach Beetsma was forced to move a variety of players into different positions for the match. The Hornets grew into the match and were more competitive as the night went on, but fell to the Cameron Dragons 15-25, 17-25, 18-25.

Hornets Football Wins Overtime Thriller at Cameron
Entering this MEC match up between the Chillicothe Hornets, and Cameron Dragons, both teams wanted to establish the run game and play strong defense. Early on in the game, the defenses won out as the first five possessions of the game tallied two fumbles, two 3-and-outs and an interception. That’s when Chillicothe’s offense got going and Silas Midgyett capped off a long drive that began midway through the first quarter and ended early in the second quarter with a 3 yard touchdown run to give the Hornets a 7-0 lead.
Lady Hornet Netters Earn Six Medals at Cameron Tennis Tournament
On Wednesday, the Chillicothe girls’ tennis team competed in the all-day Cameron Tennis Tournament against seven other teams. Each team was allowed to field two singles players and six doubles players. Each entry faced off in pool play and then bracket play against the similarly ranked opponents from the other schools. For Chillicothe, Bryton BeVelle played #1 Singles while Micah Crowe played #2 Singles. In Doubles, CHS fielded Rylee Washburn & Isabella Garr in the #1 Doubles bracket, Bianca Clark & Keeley Shira in the #2 Doubles bracket, and Keonnia Morgan & Sarah George in the #3 Doubles bracket.
