CAMDENTON, Mo. (KY3) - Several Missouri lawmakers want to eliminate sales tax on food, but some city leaders say losing that money would lead to big problems for them and you. At least six bills that would eliminate the tax on food are going through the state legislature. Republicans and Democrats in both the House and the Senate have told us how much this would help Missourians in the past, but city leaders say lawmakers don’t understand how badly this would hurt Missouri cities.

Three people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck that occurred Wednesday in Morgan County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 1996 GMC Sierra 1500, driven by 56-year-old Jonathan L. Missouri firefighters rescue bald eagle while assisting emergency helicopter landing
CAMDENTON, Mo. — A bald eagle is now recovering after it was rescued by Missouri firefighters, according to the Mid-County Fire Protection District. Firefighters were responding to an emergency call involving a helicopter landing the morning of Feb. 19 near Camdenton, the district said on its Facebook page. During the call, some of the first responders noticed a bald eagle in a ditch line.
Versailles man charged with Drug Trafficking
A Versailles man who was involved in a head on collision in Lebanon in October 2023, has been charged with drug trafficking. 45 year old Michael Gene Davidson was allegedly under the influence while driving a vehicle on North Jefferson in Lebanon, that collided with another vehicle. After the wreck officers performed a search of his vehicle and located a bag of homemade pills, and a gallon size bag with a large amount of a crystal substance. Lab results came back that the pills contained fentanyl and the crystal substance was methamphetamine. This week, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Michael Gene Davidson on charges of drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and 3 traffic violations. His bond was set at $100-thousand-dollars.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Robert Shockley, 90, was driving a 2001 Ford F250 when he reportedly failed to negotiate a curve, causing the truck to veer off the road and strike a tree Feb. 21. The crash happened near Bennett Road around 3:25 p.m.
Illinois Fugitive Captured in Miller County
A Blue Island, Illinois, man wanted for about six-and-a-half years on multiple felony warrants out of Cook County, Illinois, is taken into custody in the lake area. Documents filed in the Miller County Courthouse indicate that 29-year-old Jose Manuel Rocha-Ruiz had been wanted on two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
Bald Eagle Rescued By Lake Area Firefighters Dies The Next Day
When Lake of the Ozarks firefighters headed to an emergency call Monday morning, Feb. 19, they found a surprise: an injured bald eagle in a ditch. The Mid-County Fire Protection District firefighters had been responding to the site of a medical helicopter landing when an ambulance they were assisting saw the eagle near Goldie Bend Road. Once the units finished assisting the helicopter that transported a patient, the MCFPD crew went back to help the bird.
Idiots Help Lake Area Student Get A Car
Instead of trying to sell their used car, a local couple decided to gift it to the Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club for a student in need. The Jesters of Goodwill are dedicated to helping youth in need at the Lake. The charity provides new clothes, weekend food, school activity fees and equipment, dual credit scholarships, and more. Counselors and agency partners typically make requests for items like these, but every once in a while, the Idiots Club is able to do something special.
Osage Beach Police Report Nine Arrests This Past Week
The Osage Beach Department of Public Safety reports nine arrests for the week ending this past Sunday…four of those for driving suspended or revoked. Lieutenant Michael O’Day also says two of those arrested had warrants for failing to show up for court, two for alleged DWI, one for leaving the scene of an accident and one for unlawful use of a weapon.
