Buckhannon recognizes fallen officer at Police Officer Recognition Day
BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (WDTV) - The Buckhannon Police Department held the 7th annual Webb Grubb Police Officer Recognition Day Wednesday. During the ceremony, Buckhannon Police Chief Matthew Gregory presented the history of the day and paid tribute to Chief Chesley Grover Mearns, who was shot in the line of duty on August 9, 1921, and died on August 13 of the same year. Chief Mearns was honored and memorialized on the department’s Blue Wall of Honor at the ceremony.

City Parks of Clarksburg and the Clarksburg Amphitheater, regretfully, announces the cancelation of Tony! Toni! Toné! Featuring D’Wayne Wiggins due to unforeseen conflicts. The June 19th concert was going to be a great day for fans and Clarksburg. Everyone worked hard to resolve the unforeseen conflicts.
