Harvey honored by Cambridge Sail and Power Squadron

SECRETARY — Nancy Harvey was honored by the Cambridge Sail and Power Squadron at its annual Change of Watch on March 16 at Suicide Bridge Restaurant.

Harvey has served as commander and safety officer, along with other leadership positions. She has prepared, along with her late husband, Jim, an annual presentation at the local library of boating safety tips each May for Boating Safety Month. She has also organized a Flare and Fire Extinguisher demonstration, open to the public, to familiarize boaters and non-boaters with emergency procedures. She serves on the squadron’s Executive Committee and has taught boating classes on all levels, sharing her many years’ experience as a cruising sailor in New York and Chesapeake Bay.

Harvey will be relocating to New York State, but will continue to serve Cambridge Squadron virtually. Cambridge Sail and Power Squadron wishes her well and will miss her hard work and dedication to boating.
