    Scorpions are champs!

    Tostado induces slow ground ball to short to end the game. Camarillo beats St. Francis 2-1 to capture Division 4 title.

    One out to go

    Tostado strikes out third batter of inning for second out. Runner still at first. Camarillo one out from the title, up 2-1.

    St. Francis gets base runner

    Tostado walks second batter. One on, one out. Camarillo leads 2-1 in bottom of seventh.

    Two outs to go

    Tostado gets first batter to ground out to short.

    Three outs to a title

    Freshman Jordan Gutierrez grounds out to third with bases loaded, but Camarillo scores twice in top of the seventh to take 2-1 lead over St. Francis. Scorpions three outs away from CIF-SS Division 4 title.

    Bases loaded for Scorps

    Lovato strikes out. Goodin is intentionally walked. Bateman gets infield single between short and third, beats out throw. Bases loaded. Two outs. Camarillo leads 2-1 in top of seventh.

    Camarillo takes lead!

    Victor Tostado bunts, moves Nate Tostado to third. Trotter Enright doubles to deep center and just like that, Camarillo takes the lead 2-1. One out in the top of the seventh. Third hit of game for Enright.

    Scorpions tie it!

    Nate Tostado doubles down the right-field drive and Miller races around bases to tie game 1-1. Camarillo has go-ahead run on second with no outs. St. Francis changes pitcher, Aguilar-Tanphanich replaced by Aidan Mahoney.

    First batter reaches on BB

    Leadoff walk for Arenzana to start seventh, Miller pinch runs. Camarillo has tying run on base with no outs.

    Bateman strikes out 11 in 6 innings

    Bateman still in. Strikes out first two batters for his 10th and 11th of game. Then gives up his first hit, an infield hit to short. Then gets a flyout to end the bottom of the sixth. He goes six innings, one hit, one run, 11 Ks, throws 92 pitches. Camarillo has final chance to break through, down 1-0 headed to top of the seventh.

    Defense denies Scorpions

    Camarillo goes 1-2-3 in top of sixth inning. Bateman lines out to right. Gutierrez bunts but pitcher Noah Aguilar-Tanphanich makes great play to his right and throws him out by a step at first. Smith grounds out to first baseman, who makes great stop down the line and throws to Aguilar-Tanphanich for final out. Scorpions, trailing 1-0, must keep St. Francis off the board in bottom of inning and hope to rally in last at-bat

    Bateman with four Ks in an inning

    Bateman strikes out four in the bottom of the fifth inning, with leadoff batter reaching on a wild pitch after the first strikeout. But he strands the runner at second with three straight strikeouts. He has nine Ks through five innings and hasn't allowed a hit while throwing 80 pitches. But St. Francis still leads 1-0 heading into the top of the sixth.

    Camarillo scoreless through five

    St. Francis starter Hernandez leaves the game after allowing three hits and two walks in four shutout innings. Reliever Noah Aguilar-Tanphanich takes over and puts the top of the Scorps lineup down in order. Camarillo down to its last six outs.

    Down in order in the fourth

    The bottom of the Camarillo lineup goes down in order in the top of the fourth.

    Bateman is struck by a batted ball on a 1-4-3 groundout to start the bottom of the inning. Coach comes out to check on Bateman, but he stays in the game and finishes a 1-2-3 inning.

    Bateman has only thrown 59 pitches through four.

    St. Francis takes the lead in the third

    Tommy Goodin hits a leadoff double to centerfield in the top of the third, but he’s left on third. Camarillo has now left six on through three, including five in scoring position.

    After retiring the first six hitters, Bateman walks the leadoff batter in the bottom of the third. After a sac bunt and a wild pitch, Dane Shepard's sac fly to right field scores pinch runner Landon Pratt. St. Francis leads 1-0 without the benefit of a hit.

    Scorps leave two more on in the second

    Arenzana is hit by pitch to lead off the top of the second. Enright singles for the second time in two innings with two outs. But St. Francis fields Meyleman’s squeeze bunt to escape the jam.

    Camarillo has left five runners on through two innings.

    Bateman gets St. Francis 1-2-3 in the bottom of the second, including two strikeouts. He has four Ks already.

    Camarillo can't cash bases-loaded situation in top of first

    Camarillo threatens in the top of the first. Trotter Enright singles and Tommy Goodwin walk as Camarillo puts two runners on with one out in the top of the first. After Boston Bateman fouls out, Jordan Gutierrez draws a walk on a 3-2 count to load the bases.

    St. Francis starter Aaron Hernandez gets Brayden Smith to ground out to wriggled out the jam.

    Bateman gets St. Francis 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first, including two strikeouts. He throws 14 pitches in the first.

    Lineups

    Camarillo's Boston Bateman will take the ball for the Scorpions. The lefty is 10-1 with a 0.60 ERA as a senior.
