GW Chamber honors business, volunteer and citizens of the year

New faces join GWISD; incumbents re-elected in Three Rivers; McMullen ISD passes bond
Elections were held on May 4 for George West and Three Rivers ISD school boards, Three Rivers city council, and a bond proposal for McMullen County ISD. George West ISD will have two new school board members. In District 3, unofficial results show that David Minter received 24 votes, and current board member Kathy Likens received 8 votes. Nate Mauer received 128 votes, with Clay Jostes, the current board member for District 5, receiving 101 votes.
Lady Horns earn academic all-state honors
Four George West Lady Horns earned selection to the Texas High School Coaches Association Class 3A academic all-state track and field team released recently. Mckinzie Stewart was named to the Elite team. Raelene Freeman was chosen to the first team, while Michelle Lindholm received second-team recognition. Emileigh Caldwell earned honorable mention.
