District attorney sting operation uncovered by Mid-Hudson News
MONTICELLO – According to a statement released by Sullivan County District Attorney Brian Conaty, Mid-Hudson News uncovered a sting operation his office was conducting in the Village of Monticello. Conaty says that Mayor George Nikolados was acting in his capacity as a cooperating witness during an expletive-laced meeting with Village of Monticello Police Dispatcher Yermia Solomon last month in which the mayor offered to reinstate Solomon as a police officer in exchange for votes in the upcoming election. A recording of the conversation, which was made public, was provided by Solomon with the consent of his attorney to Mid-Hudson News.
Three arrested on deadbeat parent warrants
MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people on family court warrants for child support violations. The so-called deadbeat parents include Melissa Lynch, 36, arrested on February 15 at her residence in Swan Lake. She owes $2,500.00 in child support. The suspect ran from deputies to avoid apprehension and was caught a short time later.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the following individuals on Family Court warrants for child support violations:. Melissa A. Lynch, age 36, of Swan Lake, was charged on Thursday, Feb. 15 for not paying $2,500 in child support. Lynch ran from deputies to avoid apprehension and was caught a short time later, said Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. Lynch was sent to the Sullivan County Jail pending future court appearances.
