IFPL decreases to level 1 in Jackson and Josephine Counties

JACKSON & JOSEPHINE COUNTIES, Ore. - Cooler weather is prompting officials to lower industrial fire restrictions in Jackson and Josephine counties starting Monday, Sept. 28. According to the Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District, the Industrial Fire Precaution Level will drop from Level 2 to Level 1 at 12:01 a.m. Monday. The change affects 1.8 million acres of state, private, county, city and Bureau of Land Management forestlands in both counties.

ROSEBURG, Ore. — Fire restrictions are easing across the Douglas Forest Protection District as fire danger drops and precipitation is expected in the days ahead. The Douglas Forest Protective Association said Public Use Restriction Levels will decrease to LOW effective Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. The change applies to all private, county, state and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District.

Tonight: We'll see mostly cloudy skies tonight for the region with a band of light to moderate rain pushing inland through the evening hours. This band of rain will weaken as it works eastward overnight. We won't see much rain making it to the eastside. Winds will stay breezy to blustery overnight thanks to this incoming storm system. Low temperatures will fall into the lower 50s for our westside valleys with middle 40s to lower 50s for lows down in Siskiyou County.
