    Softball stays hot by winning three in one week

    Caledonia Area Warriors softball remains on the warpath with three wins in one week.

    The Warriors won against the Chatfield Gophers 9-2 on Tuesday, May 7, won against Fillmore Central on Thursday, May 9 by a score of 13-0, and finally, won against the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars by a score of 16-1 on Friday, May 10.

    Against Chatfield

    Braelyn Lange started against the Gophers, going 3⅔ innings with eight strikeouts. Avery Augedahl came on in the fourth inning to clear up some trouble and would go the rest of the game, allowing no runs and striking out six.

    Chatfield got on the board early in the top of the first, but only scored one more run during the troublesome fourth inning. Caledonia scored two in the third, one in the fourth and fifth, and exploded in the sixth for five runs to take the win.

    Leading hitters included Avery Augedahl, helping her own cause with a 3-4 performance at the plate, while driving in three runs with a solo bomb to right field. Elsa Blum went 3 for 3 with one RBI, and Vivianne Kittleson went 2 for 3 with two runs driven in.

    Against Fillmore Central

    The Falcons of Fillmore Central came to Caledonia for a doubleheader, and Braelyn Lange started the first game, going five innings, only allowing one hit, and striking out six. Offensively, the Warriors were locked in all game, scoring 13 total runs in four innings. The game ended with the 10-run rule after five innings with the score at 13-0.

    Leading hitters for the Warriors included Adrienne Lange going 2 for 3, while driving in one run, Braelyn Lange who also went 2 for 3 but drove in two, and finally Paizley Lange, who went 1 for 3 and had one RBI.

    In between games, the team honored its seniors for the year: Braelyn Lange, Kennedy Hansen, Annah Anderson and Alexis West.

    The second game saw limited time with only one inning played, due to inclement weather.

    Against Zumbrota-Mazeppa

    The Lady Warriors continued their offensive onslaught against the Cougars, as Braelyn Lange took the circle once again to pitch six innings, allowing only one run on two hits and striking out 14.

    The Warriors tallied 19 hits over the course of the game. Adrienne Lange went 3 for 5, including a huge grand slam to center field to put the game out of reach. She also drove in a whopping six runs in the game.

    Paizley Lange went 4 for 4, batting in four runners, and Avery Augedahl, Elsa Blum, and Kennedy Hansen would round out the day of hitting for the Warriors.

    Next up is an exciting rematch against Winona Cotter was set for Tuesday, May 14, and then the Warriors will finish out the regular season on Thursday, May 16 against Lewiston-Altura in Lewiston.
