Avatar Offroad Lands in Grand Junction With State Help
Avatar Offroad has relocated its headquarters and production out of Sandy, Utah, settling in Grand Junction, Colorado, with backing from the state's Rural Jump-Start program. When a shop that builds the hardware we bolt onto our rigs picks a new home, it's worth paying attention to — and this family-owned outfit is planting itself on Colorado's Western Slope. What Avatar Builds Avatar Offroad manufactures accessories for vans and trucks: bumpers and rock sliders, ladders, roof racks, mounting brackets, and storage systems. The company builds for campervans and trucks, with hardware for Ford, Mercedes, Nissan, and ProMaster platforms. The outfit handles the whole process in-house — design, testing, manufacturing, and installation. One shop doing the designing, testing, building, and bolting-on keeps the fitment and quality under one roof. The owners bring over three decades of combined experience in outdoor sports and metal fabrication. Why Colorado The family-owned company cited the Western Slope's outdoor recreation sector and a favorable business climate as the reasons behind the relocation. Grand Junction is prime country for the kind of trail and overland use these products are built for. Through the Rural Jump-Start program , Avatar is set to receive a $15,000 grant to get operations
