A new Chinese restaurant will be opening in the Monmouth community on North Main Street, reports Mayor Rod Davies:. “We have a family that has restaurants in Davenport and Kewanee and they are opening up a restaurant in Monmouth in what was the old Chinese Restaurant there on North Main Street. They are refurbishing the inside of the building, they put in a new parking lot, they are getting things cleaned up, and ready to go. That will be nice to have yet another vacant building filled up and being used.”
