1 dead, struck by pickup truck in Wednesday morning crash near Bushland

BUSHLAND, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety released further information on a Wednesday morning wreck in Potter County in which one man from Georgia was hit and killed by a pickup truck.

DPS officials detailed that just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, a 2007 Ford F250 was traveling east on the north service road of I-40 near Bushland, about nine miles west of Amarillo. A 34-year-old Georgia man was walking east in the eastbound lane at the same time.

The Ford driver allegedly did not see the Georgia man, who was reported to have been wearing black clothing, and hit him with the Ford. The Georgia man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

DPS officials noted that the crash is still under investigation by Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.

BUSHLAND, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety announced that one person was killed after being hit by a pickup on an I-40 service road west of Bushland on Wednesday morning.

According to DPS, one person was hit and killed by a pickup truck on the westbound I-40 service road about three miles west of Bushland just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Emergency officials were still responding to the scene, according to DPS, with the westbound service road shut down as of 7 a.m. while personnel responded to the crash site. Drivers in the area should be aware of possible delays or detours and be cautious of first responders and emergency vehicles on or near the roadway.
