Laramie County Sheriff's Office Celebrates New K9 Teams' Graduation
A special graduation ceremony was held Friday morning for the newest K9 teams at the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office. These K9s are now certified in detecting explosives and narcotics and have gone through rigorous preparation to assist with law enforcement operations. The graduates include K9 Dak and Deputy Wiltanger, K9 Arek and Deputy Herlihey, K9 Yento and Deputy Groendal, K9 Blair and Deputy Wright, and K9 Yapp and Sergeant Atencio. These K9s and their handlers are now ready to help stop crime here in Laramie County.

Governor Mark Gordon has ordered the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Laramie County from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, July 31 in honor and memory of Gus Fleischli. Mr. Fleischli represented Laramie County in the Wyoming Senate from 1953-1955 and served three terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives. He passed away July 21, 2024. The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says torrential rains leading to flooding are possible in southeast Wyoming today and especially on Saturday [July 27]. The agency posted the following on its website: brief return of monsoon moisture is expected on Friday and Saturday. This will bring scattered to numerous storms to the area during the afternoon and evening. Torrential rains could exist in these storms which could lead to possible flooding concerns on both days.
