    The top Vermont high school girls, boys tennis players? Here's our 2024 watchlist.

    After reaching out to various coaches in Vermont, below is a rundown of many of the state's top returning high school girls and boys tennis players for the 2024 season.

    The state individual tournament for singles and doubles is set for May 30-June 1. The Vermont Principals' Association team playoffs are slated to start with first-round matches on June 4 and 5.

    GIRLS TENNIS PLAYERS TO WATCH

    (Note: Players listed in alphabetical order.)

    Wynne Adamson, South Burlington High School

    The senior reached the Round of 16 in last year's singles state tournament.

    Lulu Barr-Brandt, Burlington High School

    Barr-Brandt advanced to the quarterfinal round during last year's singles state tournament.

    Cassie Bastress, Champlain Valley Union High School

    The senior lost her Round of 32 match during last year's singles state tournament.

    Tabitha Bastress, Champlain Valley Union High School

    The senior earned a trip to the Round of 16 during last year's singles state tournament.

    Julia Biedermann, Stowe High School

    Biedermann advanced to the semifinals at last year's singles state tournament.

    Aoife Crainich, Burlington High School

    Crainich reached the Round of 16 before bowing out at last year's singles state tournament.

    Anna Dauerman, Champlain Valley Union High School

    The sophomore earned a spot in the semifinals at last year's singles state tournament.

    Rosa DiGiulian, South Burlington High School

    The freshman has snagged a pair of singles victories in her spring debut.

    Gabby Doehla and Kate Tilgner, Stowe High School

    Stowe's dynamic duo will likely have a chance at an unprecedented fourth straight doubles crown later this spring.

    Hannah Knickerbocker, Essex High School

    Secured a quarterfinal appearance during last year's singles state tournament.

    Bea Molson, Mount Mansfield Union High School

    The 2022 individual singles state champion reached the quarterfinal round last spring.

    Arikka Patorti, Rutland High School

    Reached the Round of 16 during last year's singles state tournament.

    Charlotte Stevens, Stowe High School

    Finished as the state runner-up at last year's singles tournament.

    BOYS TENNIS PLAYERS TO WATCH

    Oscar Andersson, Champlain Valley Union High School

    The junior reached the second round during last year's singles state tournament.

    Kellan Bartlett, Middlebury Union High School

    The senior made the second round during last year's singles state tournament.

    Ziggy Babbott, Champlain Valley Union High School

    Helped CVU reached the team quarterfinals last spring.

    Oscar Crainich, Burlington High School

    A key doubles player on Burlington's 2023 team championship, the program's first title since 2006.

    Parker Guffey, Stowe High School

    Served as the No. 4 singles player on Stowe's runner-up squad in the team playoffs.

    Nathan Kim, Brattleboro Union High School

    The senior is the reigning individual singles state champion.

    Nevin Morton, Burlington High School

    The senior was the No. 5 singles player on Burlington's team championship and was part of a doubles tandem that captured the title at the individual state tournament.

    Jackson Murray, Middlebury Union High School

    Murray, who is undefeated this spring as of April 29, made the quarterfinals during last year's singles state tournament.

    Ethan Pastella, Stowe High School

    In Stowe's early matches this spring, Pastella has been team's No. 1 singles player.

    Malo Renault, Brattleboro Union High School

    A freshman this spring will anchor the No. 2 singles position for Brattleboro.

    Andres Barrios Sobrino, St. Johnsbury Academy

    A newcomer who opens the season as the No. 1 singles player for St. Johnsbury.

    Derin Suren, Essex High School

    Advanced to the quarterfinal round during last year's singles state tournament.

    Charles Young, Middlebury Union High School

    A freshman this spring, Young has shown big potential in his early matches so far.

    Yuyang Zhang, South Burlington High School

    The junior has been South Burlington's No. 1 singles player this spring.
