It’s not easy to look at the dozens of masks displayed in the Hillsborough Arts Council gallery without wanting to put on at least one of them and slip into the fantastical creature that roams the fantasyland of John Claude Bemis’ brain. If you’ve read any of his books, you’ll find yourself in familiar territory. If not, though, prepare for a meeting of whimsey, woodland, wizardry, mystical, earth and fur.
