Man critically injured in Butler County crash
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - An Augusta man suffered critical injuries in a crash reported Saturday afternoon on northbound Interstate 35 in Butler County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the crash at about 1:30 p.m., in which the driver of a 2006 Dodge Stratus lost control of his vehicle, went off to the right side of the road, struck the embankment, and went through the fence line.
Atlanta Woman Charged with Aggravated Assault After Shooting at Gas Station
A violent altercation at an Atlanta gas station has landed one woman behind bars after another was shot and rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Atlanta Police Department has apprehended Briana Abner on the night of May 15, 2024, after responding to a distressing scene at a Chevron located at 3012 Jonesboro Rd., as reported by Atlanta News First.
Report: Convicted murderer Justin Thurber not intellectually disabled
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A report by the Courier-Traveler said that Justin Thurber, who was convicted 15 years ago for the 2007 murder of Arkansas City resident Jodi Sanderholm, does not meet the threshold to be considered intellectually disabled. The ruling was made by a Cowley County District Court judge, and the case was remanded back to the Kansas Supreme Court for further consideration.
