A driver is in custody after leading authorities on a chase through multiple counties.It started in Dunn when U.S. Marshals tried to pull a Chevrolet Camaro. The suspect kept driving, leading authorities on a chase into Harnett County and then Cumberland County.The chase ended in Godwin where the suspect bailed and ran from the car.The driver was caught and taken into custody. Name released of Fayetteville employee killed in ATV wreck Thursday
The identity of a city worker killed in an ATV accident Thursday morning was released by police Friday afternoon. Joseph Mial, 55, died after the all-terrain vehicle he was operating struck a fence around 6:30 a.m. at Fisher Road and Lakeway Drive, according to the Fayetteville Police Department. At the time of the accident, Mial was collecting trash, presumably for the city. The Police Department did not say what city department he worked for. Mial was pronounced dead at the scene. A crew member working on a Superman movie shoot at Trilith Studios near Atlanta died by an apparent suicide on Wednesday. Fayetteville Police responded to a report of an unconscious adult contractor in a car at the studio lot and found the deceased female Teamster member with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected, and the incident is not linked to ongoing studio projects. The tragedy occurred during production of the Superman film starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. This marks the first standalone Superman project in over a decade and explores the hero reconciling his alien heritage with his human upbringing.
