Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Hartman's Distilling Co. will attempt to break the Guiness World Record for largest Mint Julep cocktail on Saturday, May 4th at their Kentucky Derby Day party. The cocktail will contain 35 gallons of bourbon, 9 gallons of maple syrup, over 400 pounds of ice and 10 pounds of mint. The whole thing will total 207 gallons and stand 5 feet. Hartman's is located in the Old First Ward.

Ink Labs, New York's largest supplier of the Evolv Weapons Detection System, will be hosting a Safety and Security Symposium at the Seneca Allegany Casino throughout Thursday afternoon from 2 - 5 PM. Ink Labs provides weapon detection systems to several local school districts including Buffalo Public Schools and North Tonawanda, as well as the Buffalo Library and Convention Center. AAA Western and Central New York has promoted two new managers. Anne McKenna will oversee membership discounts and rewards marketing. Russell Burr will take over as financial planning and analysis manager.
