BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Genesee County man has been accused of making a bomb threat against Buffalo General Hospital.

Buffalo police say that on March 17, someone called 911 and claimed that an improvised explosive device (IED) would be placed in the hospital’s parking garage.

“The hospital was checked and secured by hospital security and Buffalo Police K9 officers,” police said. “The Threat Management Unit immediately began an investigation.”

This past Tuesday, a suspect was identified and apprehended. Identified by police as 31-year-old Corfu resident Lordseth Phoenix, he has been charged with falsely reporting an incident and making a threat of mass harm, the former of which is a felony.
