Franklin man found guilty of violent threats and disorderly conduct against former employer
A Franklin man, Jesse Lamont Jackson, has been found guilty of threats of violence and disorderly conduct against a former employer. According to the Redwood County Attorney’s Office, on Dec. 7, 2022 law enforcement received a 911 call reporting Jackson had threatened to kill and beat up two people at an area business. Court documents state Jackson had been fired from that business for being unreliable. Jackson had an outstanding bill with that business, and the amount had been taken from his final paycheck.
Morton Fire Department hosts blood drive to honor former firefighter
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Charles “Chuck” Robinson served the Morton Fire Department for more than 40 years. Robinson passed away from a heart attack at the end of 2021, and now his family and the entire Morton community honors his service with an annual April blood drive supporting the American Red Cross.
Dassel wastewater blamed for decades of damage to Spring Lake
In 1991, the Dassel Area Environmental Association and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency conducted lake assessments on area lakes, including Spring Lake and Long Lake. These lakes are part of the North Fork Crow River Watershed. The outcome of those studies was alarming to the residents. Findings suggest that long-term discharge from the Dassel wastewater treatment facility, along with runoff from area agriculture, had severely affected the health of the lakes. Spring Lake became what the MPCA called an “impaired” lake.
