Pekin’s mayor kicks off reelection campaign, saying there’s more work to do

PEKIN (25News Now) - Pekin Mayor Mary Burress announced Friday that she is running for reelection in 2027, saying the job she started four years ago is not finished. Burress highlighted infrastructure and business growth during her time in office, including businesses in East Court Village, a new Chipotle and businesses near Menards. The mayor cited other developments including EPIC Medical, Ambient Fuels, and an expansion by Excalibur Seasonings.
