Man killed in Knox County deadly ATV crash identified by sheriff
WATAGA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Knox County Coroner has released the name of a 25-year-old Altona man who died Sunday in an ATV crash in a rural part of the county. Killed was Angus Carlson of rural Altona as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Also injured in the crash was Logan Meier, age 19, of Cambridge, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bartonville man faces 18 months in prison after plea to animal cruelty charge
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A Bartonville man faces up to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to charges that he maltreated dogs last year. Stephen Kalb, 42, pleaded guilty in Peoria County Circuit Court to one count of aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony that normally carries a maximum of three years behind bars.
East Peoria puts a lock on riverfront tradition
The city of East Peoria wants couples to know they can’t lock up their relationship at the Riverfront anymore. Per a post to their Facebook page last week, the city wants to discontinue the tradition of placing locks on the fence around the gazebo at RiverFront Park.
