Nebraska appeals court upholds 10 to 15-year sentence for truck theft and abandonment
The Nebraska Court of Appeals has affirmed the sentence of a man charged with stealing a pick-up from a Hebron gas station in 2019 before abandoning it in Lincoln. In January 2020, Richard Martinson, 58, was charged in Thayer County Court with theft by unlawful taking ($5,000 or more) and criminal mischief. Court records say that in August 2020, Martinson pleaded no contest to the former charge and the latter charge was dismissed.
Nebraska hospital finds 'lifeline' in new CMS model
Friend, Neb.-based Warren Memorial Hospital on Feb. 8 became the first hospital in the state to convert to a rural emergency hospital, according to omaha.com. The city-owned hospital was "hours from having to close" when it did not have the funds to cover its payroll in July, Jared Chaffin, CFO and one of the hospital's three interim co-CEOs, told the publication.

Elmwood-Murdock Falls in Tight Subdistrict D1-2 Title Battle at McCool Junction
McCOOL JUNCTION, NE - The McCool Junction Mustangs won the second half to take the Subdistrict D1-2 Title over Elmwood-Murdock, 49-41. The Knights & Mustangs were knotted at 22 at halftime before McJ took a narrow 35-30 lead into the fourth and held on for the win. Lancaster County burglar plunders thousands from bar in southern Nebraska, sheriff says

Upcoming Street Repairs at Oak Shores Entrance: Expect Delays from February 26th to March 13th
Street repairs will soon begin at the entrance of the Oak Shore subdivision. Construction will start the week of February 26th and conclude March 13th.
