(FOX40.COM) — A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department earlier in the week after he was discovered in possession of nearly 3,000 illegally grown marijuana plants, an “extremely large quantity” of psychedelic mushrooms, guns, and nearly $30,000 in cash.

The sheriff’s department said the search warrant that led to their discoveries was executed by its Marijuana Eradication Team on Wednesday at the 7500 block of Redhill Way in Browns Valley, about seven miles north of the Sicard Flat area.

During their search, deputies found illegally grown marijuana plants, four assault rifles, three handguns, hundreds of ammunition rounds, high-capacity magazines, and body armor, according to the sheriff’s department. Officials added that the suspect had a previous felony conviction that made it illegal for him to have guns and ammunition.

“[Yuba County deputies] also located packaged marijuana ready for sale, an extremely large
quantity of psilocybin mushrooms, and $28,000 cash,” the department said.

The 42-year-old man was booked into Yuba County Jail for various possession charges, including cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of psilocybin mushrooms for sale, and maintaining a drug house, among others, officials said.
