Bomb Threat Shuts Down Ford EV Battery Plant In Kentucky
While bomb threats aren’t quite as prevalent as they used to be, Ford faced one of its own last July, when the Kansas City Assembly plant in Claycomo, Missouri – which builds the Ford F-150 and Ford Transit – was evacuated following a threatening phone call. In this case, the perpetrator claimed to be armed with explosives, a rifle, and a handgun, and told authorities that he was a disgruntled employee barricaded on the second floor bathroom in the paint area of the plant. Ford promptly halted production and evacuated the plant, only to later discover that the perpetrator was a teenager who simply wanted to ensure that his friend that does work at the Kansas City plant got the night off. Now, the automaker is facing yet another threatening phone call, this time, one impacting an under construction Ford EV battery plant in Kentucky, according to WLKY news.
