NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was hospitalized with burns after he was set on fire during a fight in the Bronx on Thursday night, police said Friday as they searched for his attacker.

The 39-year-old victim and another man got into a dispute—it's unclear about what—around 11:15 p.m. at 320 East 159th St., near Courtlandt Avenue in the Melrose section, according to the NYPD.

As the two men were fighting, one of them tossed rubbing alcohol on the other and set him on fire, police said.

The attacker—who police said is 45 years old and known to the victim—fled the scene and remained at large Friday. No further description of him has been released by police.

The victim suffered burns to his head and face. He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was in stable condition.

Two other men suffered minor burns trying to put out the flames, police said.
