• Erica Danyielle Shele Davis, 33, of US Hwy. 158, Warrenton, was taken into custody on Feb. 19 on one count of felony animal cruelty and two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. Bond was set at $20,000 secured. The Sheriff’s Office report indicates that Davis turned herself in, brought a bail bondsman and was bonded out immediately. A Feb. 21 appearance in Warren County District Court was scheduled.

Terrence Washington and his team hosted their 2024 kick-off event earlier this month at the RTL All Equestrian Center in Lawrenceville, Virginia, drawing kids not only from Emporia-Greensville and Warren County, but from Lawrenceville-Brunswick and Southampton County. Following is a list of local boys inducted into service recently: Stuart Atkinson, Army; Jerome Warren, Army; Spencer Calvin Ozmore, Navy; Ralph Edward Williamson, Navy; Robert Turnage, Navy; and Harold Walker will be inducted into the Army on March 1. Those in the Army reported to Fort Meade, Md., and those who left for the Navy reported to Richmond.
The Warren County Middle School Lady Warriors finished the basketball season as undefeated regular season champions. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into complaints of improper use of force by an officer of the Warrenton Police Department. According to documents filed with the Warren County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office on Feb. 12, District Attorney Michael Waters filed a motion for a temporary restraining order for the preservation of records in the custody of the Warrenton Police Department and WatchGuard Video, Inc.
