    PREPS: Brodhead/Juda track and field teams shine at RVC Rock meet

    BELOIT — The Brodhead/Juda track and field teams continued their dominant season as the girls finished first at the Rock Valley Rock Division Meet while the boys were second on Tuesday night at Beloit Turner High School.

    The Cardinals’ girls racked up a whopping 165 points while the hosting Trojans were second with 103. Evansville was third (84) followed by Clinton and Edgerton (70) and Big Foot (62).

    On the boys’ side, the Blue Devils won with 126 points and just edged out Brodhead/Juda, which had 123. The Crimson Tide were third (105.5) with Clinton (89.5), Turner (75) and the Chiefs (35) behind them.

    Stella Arn continues to be a fiery force on the track for the Cardinals as she was first in both the 100-meter dash, with a time of 12.82 seconds, and in the 200, with a PR of 26.18. She also ran a leg of the first-place 4x100 relay (53.07) with Bernice Bevars, Brenley Jones and Elliana Shank.

    Kalena Riemer also tore it up on the track, as per usual, as she won the 400 (59.95) and the 800 (2:28.52) while opening the winning 4x400 (4:25.67), which she ran with Olivia Hartwig, Madi Brown and Shank.

    Addison Yates took home wins in the high jump, with a height of 5-foot, 2-inches, and in the long jump, with a distance of 16-feet, 8.5-inches. She was also second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.88).

    Onni Williams had a strong showing in the throws as she won the discus (113’ 5) and was second in the shot put (37’ 3). Shank was runner-up in the pole vault (7’ 0) and Brown was second in the high jump (5’ 0).

    Caitlin Wirth earned a win for the Trojans after her first-place finish in the 1600 (5:48.84). She was also third in the 3200 (12:57.07).

    Bronwyn Sherlund was second in the 300 hurdles (48.97) and third in the 100 hurdles (16.91).

    Cherish Smith, Ashi’ya House, Brijit Mosher and Harmony Moore-Ewing teamed up in the 4x200 and placed second (1:54.98).

    In the field events, Navana Terrell won the shot put (38’ 6) while Mosher was second in the triple jump (33’ 7.75).

    The Cougars had a strong showing on the track as Ava Mueller was second in the 3200 (12:37.61) while the 4x800 relay of Parker Kutz, Kasia Londson, Ella Logterman and Mueller placed first (10:49.62).

    Elliana Pape was second for Big Foot in both the 100 (13.58) and the 200 (28.38). Two of the Chiefs’ relays also placed second with the 4x100 of Pape, Allie Stankevitz, Maliyja Spearman and Ava Schoonover finishing in 53.43 seconds and the 4x800 team of Carla Castaneda, Emme Nyman, Miya Duesterbeck and Abby Hildebrandt ending in 11:22.21.

    The Pinnow brothers had a great day for the Brodhead/Juda boys’ team. Gavin Pinnow, a senior, won the high jump (5’ 8) and was second in the 800 (2:07.38). Teegan Pinnow, a sophomore, was second in the high jump (5’ 8) and was a part of two second-place relays: the 4x100 (45.65) with Grayson Arn, Gunner Boegli, and Brody Riese and the 4x200 (1:37.19) with Arn, Eric Woodward and Cullen Walker.

    Nathan Engen got a win in the 300 hurdles (43.11) while Boegli was second in the 100 (11.63) and Blake Matthys was runner-up in the shot put (42’ 9.5).

    Much like their female counterparts, Clinton’s boys showed out on the track. Dylan Yurs earned a win in the 3200 (10:41.27) as did the 4x100 relay of D’Angelo Vernon, Nathan Anastasi, Isaac Krummel and Reegan McCoy (44.92).

    Nathaniel Ligman was second in the 400 (52.54) as was Blaine Brown in the 110 hurdles (17.51) and the 300 hurdles (43.24). The 4x400 relay of Jacob Schoonover, Vernon. Matthias Shoemaker and Ligman was also second (3:42.24).

    Owen Douglas took first in the shot put (49’ 6) and second in the discus (139’ 10.5).

    Elijah Terrell continued his dominant season for Turner as he won a whopping four events: the 100 (11.43), the 200 (22.81), the long jump (21’ 4.25) and the triple jump (44’ 11.75).

    Thomas Peters placed third in the 1600 (4:55.09) and Colby Lengjak was third in the discus (129’ 2).

    Big Foot's Kaden Rambatt dominated the pole vault, as he always does, with a height of 16’ 0. Hudson Torrez was third in the 100 (11.81).

    • GOLF: At the fourth Southern Lakes Conference major of the season, hosted at Browns Lake Golf Course in Burlington, Beloit Memorial senior Max Allen was strong down the stretch.

    He played the final five holes at 2-under par to finish with an 87 and finish in a tie for 19th.

    Sophomore Marcus Allen was 27th after shooting a 91.

    The Purple Knights now move on from conference matches and on to tournament season, which will kick off on Friday at Krueger-Haskell Golf Course at 12 p.m. for the Beloit Invitational.
