Brookeland’s Sean Coulter signs with Boyce College
Brookeland High School senior Sean Coulter has signed a letter of intent with Boyce College, a division II Christian school Louisville, Kentucky. Coulter will be playing soccer at Boyce, and he is currently the Elite Club National League goalkeeper for HTX Soccer in Houston. In fact he has played the last 5 years at the ECNL and also Major League Soccer Next Level for the Albion Hurricanes, the Houston Dynamos, and HTX.

City of Zavalla’s mayor, police lieutenant, water clerk resign
ZAVALLA, Texas (KTRE) - The Zavalla City council met Tuesday evening for a special meeting to address its mayor’s resignation. Brenda Cox’s resignation is the latest in a string of departures of city department heads. The council also discussed other city staff resignations and filling in those roles.

Restart Secures Lady Wildcats Victory
In an unusual twist the Brookeland Lady Wildcats needed two days to eliminate their district foe the Chester Lady Yellowjackets in the Regional Semi-Final round of the softball playoffs 9 to 6. The game started at 5:30 PM on Thursday night went into a lightning delay around 7:30 PM and was eventually suspended at 10:15 PM. The teams returned to Lufkin High School on Friday at 1:00 PM to finish the final inning and 2/3rds for the Brookeland win. The restart was over in less than 10 minutes.
