Restaurant Road Trip: Smokin1.4Fun

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Warm weather goes hand-in-hand with barbeque, and with the days getting a bit hotter, a new barbeque option has made itself available in north-central West Virginia.

When you see the flames on that trailer pull up, you better believe there’s pure fire inside, as Smokin1.4Fun brings the heat to the meat.

Food truck owner James Weekley found his love for smoking food years before he ever considered a business. Once Weekley found his passion, he ran with it, and you can taste his devotion to the craft in every bite.

“Doing it is cooking with love. I’ve had cooks where I just wasn’t really in it 100%, and they didn’t turn out that great, so like, if you truly care about what you’re doing—every cook that I do, I cook like it’s a make it or break it cook,” Weekley said in an interview with 12 News.

Smokin1.4.Fun offers brisket, pulled pork and rib meal options, as well as a customizable nacho and cheese dish. For your sides, you can choose cole slaw, baked beans, street corn or smoked mac and cheese. That’s right, Weekley even smokes his mac and cheese.

“Homemade mac and cheese, it’s always smoked. I got the smoker going, so you know, you might as well throw it on there,” said Weekley.

If all of that wasn’t mouthwatering enough, his catering menu is just as impressive.

“On our catering menus, I have chicken. I tell people I’ll smoke anything, and I have, I mean, before I decided to start this as a business on my pit boss, I put vegetables, all kinds of stuff on there, I’d smoke. So, you know, I had tons, and tons and tons of practice before I just decided I was going to go out and sell barbeque,” said Weekley.
