STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A New York Lottery player won $50,000 with a third-prize winning Powerball ticket. The New York Lottery announced the winning ticket for the April 27 drawing matched four white balls and the red Powerball. It was sold at Pramukh 2294, located at 2294 Hempstead Tpke., in East Meadow, New York.

Village Idiot Pub will be galloping into the OTB Racing Forum in Hauppauge this spring, just in time for the last leg of the Triple Crown, Greater Long Island has learned. The restaurant group that’s behind the VIP chain of restaurants, as they’re locally referred, has just inked a deal with Suffolk OTB and is looking to start serving up bar food to locals and the pony players alike.

Bethpage Guitarist Shares Talent In Albany
Bethpage High School senior Matthew Schneider received a certificate of recognition from New York State Sen. Steve Rhoads, following his recent performance at the 51st annual Joseph R. Sugar NYSSMA Day in Albany. He and his fellow musicians from the NYSSMA All-State Instrumental Jazz Ensemble performed at South Gallery Concourse of the Empire State Plaza and at a reception for state legislators, members of their staff, parents and New York State School Music Association members. Matthew, who plays guitar, was also selected to the NYSSMA All-State Music Festival in December and recently starred in Bethpage High School’s musical production of Catch Me If You Can.
Uncle Joe’s Pizza opens in Miller Place, replaces Fusilli
Uncle Joe’s Pizza and Parlour opened in Miller Place today, replacing longtime resident Fusilli Pizzeria in the Aliano Shopping Center on Route 25A. The changeover comes after a three-month gut renovation of the storefront, and it’s part of a huge Long Island expansion by the Hampton Bays-based Uncle Joe’s.
