Gottwald not running
Price County Clerk Jean Gottwald is not running for reelection in November. Her term will end on Jan. 6, 2025. Gottwald filed a noncandidacy notification on April 30. The deadline to file noncandidacy is May 24 in order to not appear on the Nov. 5 election ballot. The filing deadline to register as a candidate for county clerk is June 3, according to Gottwald. Persons interested in becoming a candidate can find information from the office on the Wisconsin Election Commission website. Phillips approves fire truck purchase
PHILLIPS — The city of Phillips Committee of the Whole approved the purchase of a new fire truck at its May 7 meeting. The total purchase price of the truck, to include the chassis, all equipment and other preparation is approximately $779,000, according to Phillips City Clerk Shelby Kosmer. Roughly $126,000 of the amount is for the chassis itself that was ordered in 2023 and is paid for out of the fire department equipment savings fund. ...
