Providence accuses developer of 'scamming' city using affordable housing law
The Rhode Island Supreme Court heard fiery arguments this week in a case where the Providence City Council is seeking to intervene in a tax deal made by the administration of former Providence mayor Jorge Elorza affecting 10 downtown Providence properties owned by Cornish Associates, the real estate firm of Arnold "Buff" Chace. Various town boards agreed with their thinking.
